Feeling Unhappy? Embrace It — It’s How You Uncover Your True Self

I can already imagine: whenever you face a personal problem, you create every excuse under the sun not to solve it right then and there. You tend to avoid it like the plague, as you have other “important things” to do in your day. You choose not to face your problems; instead, you solve today’s troubles. Let’s face it—it's not the best.

There’s something called walking by faith, not by sight.

Not everything you see in front of you is the end goal. You will be well rewarded if you truly believe you can do good in this world. It’s always good to try to do what’s right and speak for those who cannot speak.

Have you ever felt like you could do more?

I always have this feeling; that’s why all I do is write. Reading and writing will set your mind free. You’ll gain a new perspective and an open mind like never before. My favourite way to combine the two is by collecting information and writing it from my point of view.

You see, to be happy, you have to be sad. For you to experience true feelings, you must come from a low place. In life, everything is up and down. Summer and winter.

A time to be born and a time to die.

A time to plant and a time to harvest.

A time to kill and a time to heal.

A time to tear down and a time to build up.

A time to cry and a time to laugh.

A time to grieve and a time to dance.

A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.

A time to embrace and a time to turn away.

A time to search and a time to quit searching.

A time to keep and a time to throw away.

A time to tear and a time to mend.

A time to be quiet and a time to speak.

A time to love and a time to hate.

A time for war and a time for peace.

-Solomon, King of Jerusalem

When the going gets tough, you lack the courage to withstand the pressure.

People tend to run away from their problems instead of facing them head-on. I don’t want you to be that person. Oftentimes, we think the negative parts of our lives aren’t supposed to happen, and when we experience this, we hide or distract ourselves. But life has cycles, highs and lows, every day. In a single day, we experience both pain and pleasure—both vital for our mental health.

You cannot rely on chasing only good feelings and avoiding the pain. You must face the bad while knowing that it is only temporary.

“Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”

Your pain must be purposeful—what's the point of suffering for a bad cause? That’s what I call insanity. What you deem important may be hard to manifest into existence, but at the end of this mission, you will prosper. Your pain will not go unnoticed. As long as you’re suffering for the right cause, you will feel as though you’re making progress—because you are.

Wisdom and intelligence will set you free.

Intelligent people understand that, for much of their lives, they have to do things they don’t enjoy to get to where they want to be. We all must do things and perhaps work jobs we don’t enjoy just to make a living. Intelligent people understand this is all temporary; they go through their day without letting the day control them. They are in charge of what they do and don’t do.

Intelligent people live by principles; even if trapped in an unpleasant situation, they can quickly shift from “I can’t do this anymore” to a more progress-orientated thought: “It’s okay, this is temporary.” We get distracted by people around us and by so-called daily chores that we forget how to distinguish the important from the unimportant. We are just sleepwalking through life. Intelligent people don’t do this; they are in full control of their choices. Be more like the intelligent.

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” — Albert Einstein

Become more awake and question your daily decisions. Understand that what you’re going through is just temporary pain—it doesn’t last forever.

Immerse yourself in suffering for the right causes: going to the gym, building a business, growing your relationships, creating more than you consume. This will not happen overnight, but positive changes are coming soon!

Shine doesn’t come to those who haven’t seen the darkest of nights. It’s the yin and yang: night and day, pain and pleasure, tears and laughter. Everything has its time. Ride through the beneficial suffering; the good times are around the corner.

The uncomfortable truth you must adopt, the sooner, the better.

Practice time: Sit down in silence with no phone or people around. Close your eyes and allow your feelings to flow freely. Sit with them, negative or positive. Dissect every thought and feeling. You will pick up on things that your mind focuses on.

Only in total silence can we understand ourselves more deeply. Don’t run away from yourself. Sit and observe. The more you do this, the better you’ll get—just like with anything.

Here’s the problem…

If you decide not to take full control of your life’s problems, those problems will take control of your life.

That is, if you don’t start fixing your problems before somebody else’s.

If you remain a goal-focused individual, you’ll be fine. Remember not to get swayed by life’s responsibilities, and don’t be anxious about tomorrow’s troubles.

Tomorrow will bring its highs and lows.

The simple step-by-step system

  • Embrace the lows; the highs will follow shortly.
  • Identify your problems, solve them, and then help others.
  • Be intelligent—make smarter, calculated decisions when solving problems.
  • Take full responsibility for your actions.
  • Stay focused on daily, leverage-moving actions.

Thank you for your time to read this—much appreciated.
